Architecture and remembrance

Il 29 settembre 2022 si terrà il primo evento organizzato nell'ambito del progetto Architecture and Remembrance – Architettura e memoria, promosso dalla Fondazione dell'Ordine degli architetti di Milano insieme agli Ordini di Bologna, Roma e Ferrara, alla Fondazione CDEC - Centro di documentazione ebraica contemporanea, la Fondazione MAXXI di Roma e l’Università Comenius di Bratislava e realizzato grazie al finanziamento della Commissione europea.

La giornata di studi sarà suddivisa in due sessioni di approfondimento:
- mattina e pomeriggio, solo in webinar, in inglese, dalle 10.00 alle 16.00, con il rilascio di 4 cfp deontologici agli architetti previa iscrizione e pagamento dei diritti di segreteria (euro 10,00);
- sera, solo in presenza in via Solferino, in italiano, dalle 18.00 alle 20.00, con il rilascio di 2 cfp previa iscrizione e pagamento dei diritti di segreteria (euro 10,00).
L’iscrizione alle sessioni senza il rilascio di cfp è gratuita. 

Gli incontri hanno l'obiettivo informare e sensibilizzare sulle discriminazioni subite dagli architetti ebrei durante i regimi nazifascisti, nonché di ricordare come l'antisemitismo abbia portato all'esclusione di molti architetti dai loro ambiti professionali.
Ricostruire la memoria di questo tragico evento storico è utile per fornire uno strumento vivo di prevenzione dell'intolleranza futura e favorire il dialogo, partendo dalle storie individuali dei professionisti coinvolti, per ricomporre un pezzo di storia comune e decostruire il discorso che porta all'intolleranza.

The first event organised within the framework of the project Architecture and Remembrance will be held on the 29th of September 2022, promoted by the Foundation of the Order of Architects of Milan together with the Orders of Bologna, Rome and Ferrara, the CDEC Foundation - Centre for Contemporary Jewish Documentation, the MAXXI Foundation of Rome and the Comenius University of Bratislava and realised thanks to the funding of European Commission.

The conference day will be divided into two sessions
- morning and afternoon, webinar only, in English, from 10.00 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the granting of 4 deontological cfp to architects upon registration and payment of the secretarial fees (euro 10.00);
- evening, only in presence in via Solferino, in Italian, from 6.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., with the granting of 2 cfp upon registration and payment of the secretarial fees (euro 10.00).
Registration for sessions without the release of cfp is free of charge. 

The sessions aim to inform and raise awareness of the discrimination suffered by Jewish architects during the Nazi-Fascist regimes, as well as to recall how anti-Semitism led to the exclusion of many architects from their professional fields.
Reconstructing the memory of this tragic historical event is useful to provide a living tool for the prevention of future intolerance and to encourage dialogue, starting from the individual stories of the professionals involved, to recompose a piece of common history and deconstruct the discourse that leads to intolerance.
