A reflection on the upper city as an urban device, in the light of the environmental emergency, attention to urban quality, and the search for a different relationship between the natural and built context, which is enriched by an essay by Fulvio Irace and the dialogue with Jacques Herzog, Herzog & de Meuron, in which skyscrapers and ideas of the metropolis are discussed in a critical and contemporary perspective. All the photos are by Giovanna Silva. The volume is enriched by a folding insert that illustrates the tallest towers of Milan with a drawing by Studio Folder.
